![]() There's also so much morne so as adults and elders, and it really fleshes out each age and interactions available. Generations adds so much for raising families, I usually struggled to keep a family going, but now I have so much explore with each different age (well, except babies, but they add a nice challenge, at least) that I actually still following one family and really excited for my second gen to further age. While it's realistic and opens up time to do other things, and you don't HAVE to include certain seasons, it does get frustrating when you focus on those skills. The downsides: you can't fish or garden during the winter, and sometimes spring/fall, unless you cheat to make a greenhouse (moveobjects on to move the plants inside) or indoor pond. It also added some really nice decorations, and holiday lights are a really nice touch. I've definitely gotten more use out of the festival's when I had a kid or two, since I like taking couples on other dates that make it easier to interact with each other. Seasons added festivals with new things to do, aliens are pretty fun to try to figure out, and the weather and holidays are pretty nice, but I think it's best for generational/family play. There's also a consignment store, which makes being a painter/Fisherman/gardener/nectar maker(world adventures) even more viable as a money maker. And the other interactive careers - ghost hunter, stylist, architect, firefighter, and one more I can't remember. I'm still exploring them all, but Ambitions added some really fun skills, like inventing (there are only a couple 'big inventions' that actually do stuff, but the things you can do are pretty fun/goofy), the ability to register as self employed in any skill (very helpful for me since I love having writers but dislike the 'unemployed' status without it). I've played with Supernatural and Showtime, as well, and recently added on Ambitions, Generations, Pets, Late Night and Seasons and out of those I'd DEFINITELY recommend Generations, Ambitions and possibly Late Night, if you like playing the bar scene. I played the sims 3 with just the base game and world adventures for years without getting bored, and there were tons of things I never did in it (careers, collecting, some skills, supermaxing). If I want to experience the content for the others, I'll load them up, but the others enhance the core feeling of finding a mate and a job, getting friends, doing stuff, raising a family, and having a go of it at life. I usually go with Seasons, Generations, Ambitions, Late Night, and usually Pets. University Life - Go to college and get a degree, then use that to get a better job! World Adventures - Your Sims can travel to different world locations (Egypt, China, and France, I believe) for fun and adventure (and profit). Island Paradise - An island to check out and have hijinks on. Into the Future - You can travel to the future. Supernatural - Vampires, fairies, werewolves, witches, magic. (Horses, cats, dogs, and you can also have smaller pets like rodents, turtles, snakes, and birds in enclosures.) Late Night - Clubs, celebrity system, vampires, and Bridgeport (a city-style world with a "downtown" area with highrises surrounded by a suburbs area). ![]() Seasons - Seasonal weather and festivals. Vital if you're into "family life." Ambitions - New careers, some of them fun, and new skills. Generations - Stuff for all kinds of age ranges. Trying to remember off the top of my head here, but in general: I've been running it with multiple expansions and a bunch of stuff packs, and it runs fine with barely any effort in terms of TLC now.Įxpansions depend on what you want to add to the game. Grab the Nraas Overwatch mod, and check around for other suggestions to speed up game (deleting cache at times, etc.) and bookmark them.
